This elegant Tokoname kyusu combines a softly rounded form with a comfortable handle and a smooth, controlled pour. Its simple silhouette and refined surface make it a beautiful and practical teapot for everyday Japanese tea.
The teapot features a built-in Sasame ceramic strainer, carefully formed with fine openings that allow tea to flow smoothly while keeping the leaves inside the pot. This precise strainer craftsmanship is one of the traditional qualities for which Tokoname teapots are especially respected.
This model was developed with Koushi Tōen, a Tokoname pottery recognized for its highly skilled slip-casting techniques. It is also recommended by the Japan Tea Instructor Association, an organization dedicated to preserving Japanese tea culture and encouraging a deeper appreciation of Japanese tea.
