About Ishida
"Crafting Unique Chopsticks that Enhance the Taste of Food and the Atmosphere"
Message from Ishida
For over 80 years since our founding, we have been preserving the traditional Wakasa-nuri (lacquerware) technique and crafting unique chopsticks that enhance the taste of food and the dining atmosphere. By managing every aspect from production to sales, we have not only protected tradition but also continuously planned and developed Wakasa-nuri chopsticks that match the times. Additionally, we were early adopters of computer-based product and inventory management, striving to reduce costs.
We believe that it is precisely because of this approach that we are able to deliver high-quality Wakasa-nuri chopsticks that can be used by many people. We are committed to continuing this practice with sincerity in the future.
Moreover, we will continue to create not only Wakasa-nuri chopsticks but also a variety of chopsticks and related products that enrich the dining experience to meet the diverse needs of our customers. We aim to be Ishida, a company that promotes and supports the beauty and accessibility of Japan’s food culture, which is recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
